Justin Roiland dropped from Rick and Morty; roles will be recast
Adult Swim has dropped Justin Roiland following domestic violence charges, but Rick and Morty will continue with recast votes.
After the news broke earlier this year that Rick and Morty Co-creator Justin Roiland has been accused of domestic violence, leaving fans wondering if the acclaimed animated series could continue. Well, big news today as it was announced the Rick and Morty would continue, but without Justin Roiland's involvement.
"Adult Swim has ended its collaboration with Justin Roiland,Mairie Moore said in a statement from Adult Swim/Cartoon Network/Boomerang. Dan Harmon will remain on board as the series' sole creator, with the roles of Rick and Morty set to be recast.

Justin Roiland pled not guilty in 2020 to one felony count of assault and one felony count of false imprisonment through threat, violence, fraud and/or deception. A trial date has not yet been set, but he could face up to seven years in prison if convicted.
